Ram Pothineni and Director Boyapati Srinu Pan-India Debut Film ‘Skanda’: Breaking into the Hindi Market

Ram Pothineni and Director Boyapati Srinu Pan-India Debut Film 'Skanda'

Director Boyapati Srinu and actor Ram Pothineni are teaming up for their pan-India debut film, Skanda. Unlike some recent Telugu movies that claimed to be pan-India but didn’t truly engage the North audience, Ram and the filmmakers are genuinely committed to winning over viewers from North India with “Skanda.”

Ram Pothineni recently participated in a Hindi interview with renowned dubbing artist Sanket Mhatre, known for lending his voice to iconic characters in films like One Piece Live Action Netflix series, Batman, Deadpool, Green Lantern, Shazam, Captain America, and even dubbing for Allu Arjun in a few of his films.

Ram is determined to make a mark in the Hindi-speaking regions with “Skanda” because he believes that Boyapati’s style of filmmaking is an ideal way to captivate Hindi audiences. While Boyapati’s name may not be familiar to North Indian audiences, his dubbed films in Hindi have consistently performed exceptionally well on satellite and YouTube. This bodes well for the prospects of “Skanda” in the North.

Mass-oriented films with a distinct Indian flavour have proven successful in Hindi cinema, as exemplified by Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa” and Sunny Deol’s recent blockbuster “Gadar 2.” While “Skanda” may not have a huge opening initially, positive word of mouth and continued post-release promotion by the makers could certainly help the film leave a lasting impression in the Hindi market. Achieving a revenue of Rs 15-20 crore from the Hindi-speaking regions would be a significant achievement for “Skanda.”
